Looker Studio dashboard examples for ecommerce and B2B

4dashboard layouts, with the sources each needs
1,000+data sources Google says Data Studio can connect to
5maximum data sources in one blend

Short answer: a good dashboard answers one question per panel: what did we spend, what did we get back, and what should we change. Below are four layouts, each with the data sources it needs: ecommerce ads, B2B lead generation, website traffic and a weekly owner summary. These are layout sketches, not downloadable templates.

How to read these examples

Name change: Google’s documentation says the product name returned to Data Studio in April 2026, and the address is now datastudio.google.com. The old lookerstudio.google.com address redirects there. Many people still search for “Looker Studio”, so we use both names.

Each example is a sketch of where panels sit on one page. Orange panels hold platform-reported numbers. Blue panels hold numbers confirmed in your store or CRM. Mixing the two without labels is the most common reporting mistake.

Example 1: Ecommerce ads overview

For store owners who run Google, Meta and TikTok ads.

Sources: Google Ads, Google Analytics, your store orders (a Google Sheet export or a database), and a connector for each other ad platform.

Example 2: B2B lead generation

For teams that judge ads by meetings, not clicks.

Sources: Google Ads, a LinkedIn Ads connector, and CRM data exported to Google Sheets or BigQuery.

For anyone growing organic traffic.

Sources: Google Analytics and Search Console. Both are Google marketing connectors in Google’s connector list.

Example 4: Weekly owner summary

One page for a busy owner.

Write the notes by hand or have Claude draft them for a person to check.

How to combine data from different sources

Google says you can blend data from up to five data sources in one blend. Blends use these join types: inner, left outer, right outer, full outer and cross. Google adds that joins support equality between fields only.

JoinUse it when
Left outerYou want every row from your main table, plus matching data from another (the usual choice)
InnerYou only want rows that exist in both tables
Full outerYou want every row from both tables

Join names from Google: how blends work. The “use it when” column is our plain-English summary.

Keep keys clean. A blend joins on matching fields such as date or campaign name. If names differ between platforms, fix them first or the join will drop rows.

Where the data comes from

Google lists Google Ads, Google Analytics and Search Console as Google marketing connectors, BigQuery as a database connector and Google Sheets as a spreadsheet connector. Google says Data Studio can connect to more than 1,000 data sources, and that anyone can build a community connector to an internet-accessible source. Check who built a community connector before you share an account with it. See our template guide for how to start from a ready-made layout.

Questions answered

What should an ecommerce dashboard show?

At minimum: ad spend, store sales, marketing efficiency (sales divided by marketing spend), orders and cost per order, with each number labelled as platform-reported or store-confirmed.

How many data sources can I combine?

Google says you can blend data from up to five data sources in one blend.

Which sources work best for B2B lead generation?

Google Ads and a LinkedIn connector for spend, plus CRM data in Google Sheets or BigQuery for leads, meetings and deals, so each lead keeps its source.

Are these dashboards downloadable templates?

No. They are layout sketches to copy. We can build a custom version for your data.

Do I need Looker Studio Pro for dashboards like these?

No. Google says Data Studio is free for creators and viewers. Pro adds team workspaces and other organisation features. See our guide on what Pro adds.
